Brief

Audio Visual Events (AVE) has had a long association with the annual Balmoral Burn fun run. The event is run by the Humpty Dumpty foundation in an effort to raise money for essential medical equipment used to treat and save the lives of children in hospitals around New South Wales. Each year the location, weather and crowd number pose an infinite number of challenges. The essential challenge was to supply an audio and video solution that brings together the large space covered by the Balmoral Burn charity run, and also to create a fun and exciting atmosphere so that no matter where a participant was on the course they could be part of the excitement.

Solution

The AVE production team took up the task of assembling the necessary equipment for the event. The JBL VRX audio system was mounted on scaff towers to project up the hill behind the competitors, as well as used on the main entertainment stage at the hillís base. Following the racers, and linked on its journey up the hill via wireless communications units was a Sony Z7 HD camera mounted on a motorbike to shoot as close to the action as possible. Below on the entertainment stage, the VRX system combined with LED screens was the hub of the day's activities and did not disappoint in delivering a great day out for all attendees.
