The Brompton Technology Tessera M2 LED Video Processor is the flagship product in the Tessera range. The M2 features powerful front-end processing with broadcast quality scaling and motion adaptive de-interlacing that eliminates the need to use an external scaler.

Used in conjuntion with our Unilumin UPADIII 2.6mm LED Screen and ROE Visual LED Strip, the Tessera M2 processor enables confident delivery of large and complex layouts, or events demanding superior video performance.

The M2 processor has one DVI-I input, and two 3G-SDI inputs. It supports input resolutions of up to 1080p60. Each input can be fully configured with contrast, brightness, gamma, hue, saturation and RGB gain. Inputs can be scaled up or down to suit the LED panel configuration, with clean switching and fading.

The system is configured using the intuitive and powerful Tessera Management Software. This gives you the option of using a remote PC (Windows or Mac) or working locally by plugging a mouse, keyboard and monitor directly into the processor. Real-time previews assist with system set-up and confirm source status. Live control of multiple Tessera processors can be can be achieved using the Tessera Control application, also available for Windows PC or Mac.

All the processors in the Tessera family communicate with LED panels fitted with Tessera receiver cards. This allows them to communicate bi-directionally with the panel over Gigabit Ethernet. The use of standard Ethernet allows offthe-shelf Gigabit Ethernet networking equipment and cabling to be used. Tessera receiver cards can be retro-fitted to either existing panels or seemlessly integrated into new designs.

Each supports a nominal 525K pixels at 8 bits per colour, 60Hz frame rate. 10 and 12 bits per colour output is supported at reduced pixel counts. Pixel count may be reduced for certain fixture types.

Neutrik EtherCON connectors, compatible with standard RJ45.

Loop back redundancy supported
Redundancy can be separately enabled for each pair of ports in the Tessera software. When redundancy is enabled each pair of ports will have the same capacity as a single port.
Front-End Processing

All processing at 12 bits per colour channel (36 bits per pixel)

Controls include hue, saturation, brightness, contrast and individual red, green and blue shadow and highlight.

Dual processing pipelines each featuring broadcast quality deinterlacing, clipping and up-/down-scaling, with seamless switching and cross-fading between inputs
Processing pipelines are disabled when operating in low latency mode, or when non-standard canvas resolutions are enabled.

ChromaTune colour correction
Features 14-way Colour Corrector and Colour Replace modes. Not available when operating in low latency mode, or when non-standard canvas resolutions are enabled.

Multiple fixture types per project

Automatic interpolation of different pixel pitches to make content appear at the same physical size across all fixtures
Interpolation can be disabled for 1:1 output on all fixture types. The content appears at normal size on the finest pixel pitch fixtures, and is scaled to match on those with coarser pixel pitches.

Nominal 2.1 million pixel capacity
Nominal capacity at 60Hz frame rate and 8 bits per colour output. Capacity increases proportionally for lower frame rates and decreases proportionally for 10 or 12 bits per colour output. ​

Rotation of some fixture types may result in reduced capacity. Fixtures smaller than 16px in either dimension have additional processing overhead and therefore result in reduced capacity.

Lock to any source, the reference input or an internal timing reference
The frame rate of the internal reference can be set by the user. ​

Frame rates from 23.98 to 60Hz are supported.

​The processor automatically locks to the selected video input when in low latency mode, or using non-standard canvas sizes.

Some front-end processing and genlock features are disabled in low latency mode.

When using legacy fixture types with constant current driver ICs, the end-to-end latency is one frame less.

​ Latency is measured in multiples of the frame rate period of the genlock source.

User Interface

Local management using monitor, keyboard and mouse
DP++ monitor output supports DVI, HDMI and VGA using a suitable adapter. Monitors from 1280x1024 up to 1920x1080 are supported. ​

2 x USB2.0 on front and 2 x USB 2.0 on rear for keyboard and mouse. Can also be used for USB memory sticks for firmware reload and project backup.
